About Me

I’m Raymond Hendriks. A hands-on developer and systems engineer with experience in robotics, embedded systems and AI-assisted development. I combine technical development with mentoring robotics teams competing in international FIRST competitions.

I’m a software engineer and systems thinker with broad experience in software development, system integration and technical architecture. I enjoy analysing complex systems, experimenting with technical solutions and building robust, maintainable software.

My work sits at the intersection of software engineering, robotics and AI experimentation. In recent years I have also applied my technical background to designing STEM learning environments and guiding technical projects, where systems thinking, software engineering and mentoring come together.

My strength lies in structuring complex technical problems and translating them into working systems and clear, practical solutions.

The person behind the tech

Behind the robotics projects and AI experiments is someone who simply enjoys building things and figuring out how systems actually work.

I’ve always been drawn to complex systems - the kind where mechanics, electronics and software come together and where small design decisions can have surprisingly large effects.

Much of my work happens in a small personal lab where ideas turn into prototypes. Some experiments succeed, others fail spectacularly - but each usually reveals something useful about how real systems behave outside of theory.

Outside of engineering I enjoy exploring new ideas, tinkering with hardware, and occasionally disappearing into a good book or a deep technical rabbit hole.

I currently live in the Greater Groningen Area, The Netherlands together with my wife, daughter and our two labradors.
